The adjoining Spanish-inspired Tapa Bar (Oscar) and bustling cafe (Otto Eatery) are the latest offerings from hospitality couple Catherine MacLoughlin and Hamish Carter.
Great food, fabulous coffee and drinks, along with lashings of customer love and engaging service from a top team. These are the hallmarks of both cafe and restaurant - and the recipe is hitting the spot with their growing family of loyal diners.
It's a recipe Catherine and Hamish have served up regularly over the past 20 years - both at Alimento cafe and Hereford Kitchen.
There is nothing more satisfying than serving great food to wonderful people.
The couple first set up Alimento in 2002, then later went on to concentrate their efforts on their catering company Hereford Kitchen, before going on to open Oscar & Otto on Tauranga's Strand in 2019.
Both Oscar & Otto are relaxed eateries serving fresh and inventive menus. Otto is a light bright modern eatery, Scandinavian in design and that is reflected in the food it delivers.
Oscar on the other hand is a Spanish inspired restaurant & tapa bar that oozes character & atmosphere. Specialising in social encounters and sharing plates.
The couple enjoy looking after everyone who walks through their doors, making them feel welcomed & relaxed. ''That is the reason why we are here.''
